The Trailblazers Conclave in its first edition in 2023 had the tagline ‘Nayi Narika Naya Nara’, clearly setting up the congregation as a forum for empowerment.

In the third edition of this mega event in 2025, the Tata Steel Trailblazers Conclave carries forward the same commitment, but with a much broader focus, as RevSportz commits to bring to this platform an equal number of able-bodied and para athletes.

In its first edition, the Trailblazers Conclave had given a voice to Manu Bhaker when she was yet to become the star that she is now, post Paris 2024. Manu was passing through a low phase after her gun malfunction and negative public scrutiny post the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. The Trailblazers Conclave was the singular forum that had given this young athlete a platform to speak about mental health and the pressures of being in the public eye. RevSportz has always believed in giving a voice to athletes in their highs and lows, and in following them in their careers whether they are in a winning situation or not. It was the same with Manu.

The first edition of the conclave also featured a high power panel with wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and ex-India hockey captain Rani. Vinesh and Sakshi had challenged a powerful establishment with their call for justice for women wrestlers and this was the first forum after their protest at Jantar Mantar where they spoke publicly on this issue, one that has plagued athletes the world over. The Trailblazers Conclave became a platform for these athletes to speak out on these unpleasant realities of their sport and on the need for reform.

RevSportz followed Vinesh in her mammoth battle at the Paris Olympics and brought her story to the thousands back home. Her’s was a story of empowerment, of struggle, and resurgence. As was Rani’s. On the same panel in the first edition, Rani recounted her own life story, a heart-warming tale of a girl’s grit, and of empowerment solely through playing sport and excelling in it.

In Trailblazers 2 we had MC Mary Kim speak of motherhood and of how her sport allowed her to surmount the challenges brought on by parenthood and the care of one of her children who had a heart condition.

Para badminton champion Manasi Joshi has always been a vocal advocate for women’s rights and spoke on the sidelines about women’s health — physical and mental.

The Trailblazers Conclave from day one has been a forum to speak about the mental health and wellness of athletes and not only to celebrate performance, for true empowerment and it’s percolation when an athlete is able to speak of the problems and vexing issues and call for the same to be addressed in a larger way.

The forthcoming third edition — the Tata Steel Trailblazers conclave will have para athletes like Mona Agarwal and Navdeep Singh who are beacons of light for the entire sports fraternity. Mona, a mother and wheelchair bound para shooter, has a life story that could be the stuff of cinema. Only it’s real, and it’s been a life of struggle, fight and empowerment.

Navdeep is perhaps one of the most sought after sports personalities of the moment after his remarkable win in the 2024 Paralympics. His remarkable life story, and his even more remarkable wit, and his ability to laugh at himself will make for a much awaited session at the forthcoming March 2025 conclave.

These have all been journeys of empowerment of sports people at different ends of the sporting spectrum, and in 2025 some of the best in the business will come together under one roof in the Tata Steel Trailblazers Conclave.
