The Emirates Cricket Board confirmed on Friday (May 2) that Bangladesh will play a two-match T20I series against the United Arab Emirates at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium later this month. The two T20I matches will be on May 17 and May 19 respectively.

This will the second time in three years that the two nations will meet in a bilateral T20I series, having previously played a two-match series in Dubai back in September 2022.

“We’re delighted to welcome the Bangladesh Men’s team again for a bilateral T20I series,” said Subhan Ahmad, COO of the Emirates Cricket Board. “Our goal remains to provide the UAE national team with valuable experience by competing against established cricketing nations.”

“Over the past three years, the UAE has hosted several ICC Full Member teams including New Zealand, the West Indies, and Afghanistan. Bangladesh’s return further strengthens the UAE’s growing profile as a venue for international cricket,” added Ahmad.

After this series, Bangladesh will continue their preparations for the Asia Cup by heading to Pakistan for a five-match T20I series. Their busy schedule also includes a tour of Sri Lanka featuring two Tests, three ODIs, and two T20Is, before hosting India in August for a limited-overs series.

“We’re thankful to the Emirates Cricket Board for organising this series,” said BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury. “It will be a valuable opportunity for our squad as we gear up for an intense international calendar. These matches will not only serve as preparation but also help further strengthen our cricketing relationship with the ECB and offer fans quality action.”
