Virat Kohli has returned to the practice nets in London ahead of India’s next ODI assignment — a three-match series in Australia, scheduled from 19 to 25 October. The former India captain shared a picture on his Instagram story on Friday from a training session alongside Gujarat Titans’ assistant coach Naeem Amin.

In the picture, Kohli is seen sporting a salt-and-pepper look, wearing a grey T-shirt and blue trousers. The caption read: “Thanks for helping out with the hit, brother. Always lovely to see you.”

Kohli’s ODI comeback was delayed after the series against Bangladesh, initially scheduled for August, was postponed. He last featured during India’s Test tour of Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the beginning of the year, where he scored 190 runs at an average of 23.75.

The talismanic batter made headlines when he announced his retirement from Test cricket in June, shortly after leading Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to their maiden IPL title. Since then, he has been out of action. While the England-India Test series was going on, Kohli was seen spending time with his family — attending Wimbledon with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and appearing at a charity event hosted by former cricketer Yuvraj Singh.

In ODI cricket, Kohli has amassed 14,181 runs at an average of 57.88, including 51 centuries and 74 half-centuries. In the last World Cup, he scored 765 runs and broke Sachin Tendulkar’s long-standing record for the most ODI centuries.
