Emami East Bengal FC on Saturday confirmed that forward Vishnu PV has signed a two-year contract extension, securing his stay at the club until the end of the 2027–28 season. The 23-year-old attacker, who joined the club in mid-2023, was East Bengal’s joint-leading scorer in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024–25 season with four goals.
Over the course of the campaign, Vishnu featured in 22 ISL matches, scoring four goals and providing three assists. His performances, which also included 38 successful dribbles and 115 duels won in 1,459 minutes of action, earned him the ISL Emerging Player of the Month award in December 2024.
Vishnu’s development has been a significant positive for the Red & Gold Brigade. Head of Football Thangboi Singto praised the young attacker, stating, “Vishnu’s extension is a reward for his good performance. Consistency, perseverance, and professionalism are the traits we wish to foster in all our players.”
Head Coach Oscar Bruzon echoed similar sentiments, calling Vishnu “an important asset to the club” and hailing his “fearless dribbling and match-winning impact.” Bruzon added that if the youngster maintains his trajectory, he could become “one of the best wingers in the country.”
Vishnu has also been a standout performer in the Calcutta Football League, scoring 11 goals over two seasons, and played a key role in East Bengal’s run to the final of the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) in 2024. He holds the record for the fastest goal scored by an East Bengal player in the ISL — just 33 seconds into a game against Odisha FC.
Grateful for the faith shown in him, Vishnu said, “This club has made me what I am today. I am determined to bring as much success to East Bengal as possible.”
