Brisbane Heat have made a bold statement ahead of WBBL 11 by retaining India’s star batter Jemimah Rodrigues as Pick No. 3 in the draft. Fondly called ‘Lil J’ by her fans and teammates, Rodrigues has been an important part of the Heat’s setup and will return for another exciting season in the WBBL.

Although the Melbourne Stars picked her as their third choice in the draft, the Heat used their retention pick to secure her services once again. Last year, Jemimah was a consistent performer for Brisbane Heat Women, playing 10 matches and scoring 267 runs, with a highest score of 61.

Her performances stood out due to her quick scoring ability—she maintained a brilliant strike rate of 139.06 and averaged 33.37. Rodrigues’ ability to accelerate in the powerplay and build partnerships will once again be crucial for the Heat, who are aiming for another title. Her return not only boosts the team’s batting firepower but also brings experience and a positive attitude to the dressing room.

“I’m super, super, super excited to be rejoining you all back in Brisbane.” – Jemimah Rodrigues

Speaking about her return to the Heat, Rodrigues shared a heartfelt message to her fans, saying: “I’m super, super, super excited to be rejoining you all back in Brisbane.”

Fans are thrilled to welcome her back and are eager to see more stunning strokes and match-winning knocks from the dynamic Indian batter. Even skipper Jess Jonassen expressed her excitement about having Rodrigues back in the team for the upcoming season.
