After the England Test team’s defeat against Australia in the second Ashes Test at Lord’s, their captain Ben Stokes shared his feelings of disappointment. However, Stokes remained hopeful for the future and showed confidence in his team’s capacity to bounce back in the remaining matches of the series.
Despite Stokes’ remarkable century on the final day at Lord’s, England suffered a 43-run defeat in the second Test, leaving them with a 2-0 series deficit and three matches left to play.
“Having experienced something similar, you are able to look back at it. Did take a lot out of Headingley but unfortunately not to be.” Stokes said in the post-match presentation.
“It got to the point that Australia changed their plans to me so I had to change my plans as well. It is a tough one to swallow getting so close. We are 2-0 down but have won series 3-0 in the past so know we can do it.”
