In a candid revelation, Pakistan batter, Ahmed Shehzad, expressed gratitude for the support and guidance he has received from the Indian cricket icon, Virat Kohli.
Shehzad highlighted the similarities in relation to how they began their respective careers, with Kohli now established as a contemporary legend. Meanwhile, Shehzad has faced an extended absence from the national team. Despite their divergent paths, the bond between the two players remains strong.
“Friendship is in the sense that we both respect each other a lot. Whenever I need advice, he is always there. He has been kind enough, humble enough. I really respect him as a player,” Shehzad said on Nadir Ali’s podcast.
Shehzad revealed that when Kohli initially emerged on the cricketing scene, he wasn’t exactly fit. However, Kohli’s relentless dedication to enhancing different facets of his game ultimately led to significant rewards. “He changed dramatically over the years. When he was an U-19 player, he was quite chubby.”
