The tenth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to begin tomorrow, 11 April 2025. Ahead of the tournament opener, Pakistani pacer Hasan Ali made a bold statement. He said that fans may stop watching the ongoing IPL 2025 and turn to PSL 10 instead if players perform well and meet the fans’ expectations.
As quoted by Geo News, Hasan said: “Fans watch the tournament where there’s good cricket with entertainment. If we play well in the PSL, viewers will leave the IPL to watch us.”
Why is the PSL 10 getting overlapped with the ongoing IPL 2025?
Usually, the IPL and PSL do not overlap. But this year, because of Pakistan’s busy international cricket calendar, the PSL was rescheduled. As a result, the tournament now clashes with the ongoing IPL.
Hasan also admitted that Pakistan’s poor run in recent international matches could affect this season of the PSL. However, he believes better cricket, good results, and time can change things.
Hasan Ali will represent Karachi Kings in PSL 10
“When the national team doesn’t perform well, it impacts franchise leagues like the PSL. But when Pakistan do well, the PSL’s graph also rises,” Hasan added. “The current results aren’t great, but we have fresh faces in the team and also in management who need time. The players know where they went wrong and where to improve,” he concluded.
Hasan Ali will represent Karachi Kings in PSL 10. The team will start their campaign on 12 April in Karachi against the Multan Sultans.
