Australia completed a dominant 5-0 whitewash over West Indies in the T20I series, following their 3-0 sweep in the Tests. In the final T20I played in St Kitts, West Indies posted 170 runs, but Australia chased it down with three wickets in hand and three overs to spare.

Chasing the target, Australia had a poor start as they lost last match’s hero, Glenn Maxwell, who could not open his account. Tim David and Cameron Green built a partnership of 35 runs. Then Mitchell Owen joined Green and stitched a partnership of 63 off 28 balls that set the tone for Australia’s victory.

Green (32 off 18), David (30 off 12), Owen (37 off 17), and Aaron Hardie (unbeaten 28 off 25) all made significant contributions to secure the win for Australia. For West Indies, Akeal Hosein took 3/17 in his four overs at an economy rate of 4.20.

Earlier, being asked to bat first, West Indies lost three wickets within the powerplay. Both openers were removed by Ben Dwarshuis. Keacy Carty, who was included for this match in place of Evin Lewis, could not impress and got out after making only one run.

Shimron Hetmyer scored an excellent fifty. He made 52 off 31 balls at a strike rate of 167.74. His innings included three fours and three sixes, but he was also dismissed by Dwarshuis. Sherfane Rutherford gave good support to Hetmyer and scored 35 from 17 balls at a strike rate of 205.88, which included six fours and a six.

Dwarshuis was adjudged Player of the Match for his 3/41, while Green was named Player of the Series. Green showed great consistency throughout the series, scoring 205 runs in five games, at an average of 68.33 and a strike rate of 164.00, including three fifties.
