Priyanka Ghodke etched her name into history as she became the first bowler to claim a five-wicket haul in the Women’s Maharashtra Premier League (WMPL) 2025. Playing for Ratnagiri Jets against Raigad Royals, Ghodke delivered a brilliant spell, but unfortunately, her efforts were not enough to secure a win for her team.

Batting first, Raigad Royals struggled on the pitch and were bundled out for 106 runs in 19.4 overs. Jets’ Priyanka rose to the occasion with a fiery spell that destroyed the opposition. She claimed five wickets for just 10 runs in 3.4 overs, sending back Royals’ Kiran Navgire, Bhavika Ahire, Shravani Desai, Pradnya Veerkar, and Ananya Chavan. Her dream spell nearly turned the game for the moment.

Ratnagiri Jets Finished at the Bottom of the Points Table with Two Points

In reply, without Smriti Mandhana in the line-up, the Jets struggled and managed only 89/9 in 20 overs, falling 17 runs short. Rasika Shinde scored 29 runs off 39 balls, including four boundaries, along with captain Gautami Naik’s 22 runs off 32 balls.

Smriti Mandhana was decent with the bat this season, scoring 152 runs in five matches. She finished at the fourth spot among the highest run-getters in the 2025 season. However, Ratnagiri Jets had a tough debut season, winning only one out of six games and finishing with two points and a net run rate of -0.697.
