
Indian vice-captain and batting superstar Smriti Mandhana has been appointed as the icon player of Ratnagiri Jets for the inaugural Women’s Maharashtra Premier League (WMPL). Ratnagiri Jets have been the two-time champions of the men’s MPL and now aim to advance women’s cricket and inspire future talent in the sport by venturing into the WMPL.

Regarding her association with the franchise, Mandhana said: “I’m thrilled to join the Ratnagiri Jets family as their icon player. The franchise has demonstrated success in the MPL and a clear vision for the women’s game. I’m excited to play a part in shaping the next chapter of this journey and cannot wait to hit the ground running with my new teammates. Together, we aim to inspire and win hearts both on and off the field.”
Mandhana has scored 3,761 runs in 142 T20I innings with an average of 29.38 and a strike rate of 123.27, including 30 fifties.
