Yashasvi Jaiswal has requested the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to allow him to continue playing for Mumbai in the upcoming 2025–26 domestic season. One month ago, Jaiswal had requested the MCA to issue him a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play for Goa, as his family was planning to relocate there from Mumbai. The MCA had granted him the NOC at that time. However, that plan has since changed
“He has written a letter to us, but we are in no hurry to take a decision on this because there is time for the next domestic season,” MCA secretary Abhay Hadap told ESPNcricinfo.
Jaiswal was playing for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2025, which was suspended on Friday, May 9, due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan. He featured in all 12 games this season, scoring 473 runs at an average of 43 and a strike rate of 154.57, including five half-centuries.
The 23-year-old made his first-class debut for Mumbai in 2019. He has played ten first-class matches, scoring 863 runs at an average of 53.93, including four centuries and two half-centuries. He recently played for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy against Jammu & Kashmir but was ruled out of the semifinal due to an ankle injury sustained during training. He is expected to next feature in international cricket during India’s five-match Test series in England.
