Zimbabwe Cricket has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand, set to be held at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.

The squad sees four changes from the one that faced South Africa in their recent Test series at home which the visitors won. Sikandar Raza, Ben Curran, Roy Kaia, and Tanunurwa Makoni return to the fold, replacing Takudzwanashe Kaitano, Prince Masvaure, Wessly Madhevere, and Kundai Matigimu.

Raza missed the South Africa series due to franchise cricket commitments, while Curran was sidelined with a hand fracture but has now recovered. Brian Bennett, who suffered a concussion during the South Africa series, has retained his place.

Among the notable omissions are Dion Myers, who was included as cover in the previous series, and Richard Ngarava, who played in the recent T20I tri-series but missed the South Africa Tests. Fast bowler Victor Nyauchi has also been left out once again.

The first Test will be played from 30 July to 3 August, followed by the second from 7 to 11 August. Both matches will take place in Bulawayo.

This will be the first Test series between Zimbabwe and New Zealand since their 2016 meeting, when the visitors claimed a 2-0 victory at the same venue.

Zimbabwe Squad for New Zealand Test Series: Craig Ervine (Captain), Brian Bennett, Tanaka Chivanga, Ben Curran, Trevor Gwandu, Roy Kaia, Tanunurwa Makoni, Clive Madande, Vincent Masekesa, Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarabani, Newman Nyamhuri, Sikandar Raza, Tafadzwa Tsiga, Nicholas Welch, Sean Williams
