Wicket-keeper batter Scott Edwards will lead a strong and experienced 15-member Netherlands squad in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will start on February 7.
Seasoned T20 campaigners Roelof van der Merwe, Bas de Leede and Michael Levitt return to the squad after most senior players missed the last series against Bangladesh.
Teja Nidamanuru, Tim Pringle and Vikramjit Singh are the notable omissions from the squad that toured Bangladesh for the three T20Is.
Veteran all-rounder Colin Ackermann, who last played for the Netherlands in 2024, also returns after spending most of the year in England. Fast bowler Timm van der Gugten is also back to strengthen the pace attack, which will be led by Logan van Beek. Van Beek is included after impressive performances in New Zealand’s domestic T20 competition and the Super Smash.
Kyle Klein and Noah Croes will act as Edwards’ back-up behind the stumps. This will be their first appearance at a World Cup.
The Netherlands are placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Namibia, the USA and co-hosts India. They will begin their World Cup campaign against Pakistan on February 7 in Colombo.
