It was a partnership waiting to happen. And I have to thank Sagar Daryani for getting us together. Independently we had known each other for years and always wanted to make a difference to sport. It was interesting to hear Rahul Todi outline his vision for football, hockey and a host of other Olympic sports. It was only natural that Rahul mentioned the fandom for East Bengal which he witnessed first hand in the aftermath of the Super Cup win.
That’s when we decided to take things ahead and work together for not just the Trailblazers Conclave 2.0 presented by Tata Steel but also round the year on programming that goes deeper and seeks to make a difference. Chances are the Paris 2024 International Olympic Committee – IOC Games will be the best for India. And the Paris 2024 – Comité d’organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2024 will be even better. Clearly the stage is set for India to become a Multi sport nation and we have seen states like Odisha take the lead.
Sport is about aspiration and soft power and the time is ripe to work on Multi sport content leading upto the Paris Games and beyond with the conclave setting the tone. And needless to say Mohun Bagan and East Bengal will always be special for Indian football fans.
This is a partnership that aims to build legacies and tell stories that inspire.
