England great Geoffrey Boycott has severely criticised the England team for their poor show in the ongoing Ashes 2025/26 series.
Boycott wrote in The Telegraph that England will not be able to win any small tournament with the way they are playing. He also called England’s performance in the Brisbane Test a “horror show”.
He wrote, “After just six days of Ashes cricket, England need a miracle. Brisbane was a horror show: irresponsible batting, bowling too short, too wide or too full and catches dropped. With this sort of batting and bowling, they couldn’t win an egg cup, let alone the Ashes urn.”
England were in a good position after taking a lead of 40 runs in the first innings of the first Test at Perth, but Travis Head single-handedly took the match away with his blistering hundred in the fourth innings. England’s performance dropped further in the second Test at the Gabba in Brisbane, where they were beaten by eight wickets.
According to Boycott, captain Ben Stokes and his team do not listen to any advice from experts.
He wrote, “What a load of bulls—. We can’t believe anything Ben or his team say. None of them wants to listen to anyone outside of their own camp. They are up their own backsides convinced that Test cricket has changed so much that only they know anything about the modern game.”
