Bowling all-rounder Fionn Hand has made a comeback into the Ireland squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India, scheduled to be held from August 18 to 23, 2023, at Malahide. Fit-again Gareth Delany has also been named in the squad

Delany is returning after recovering from a wrist injury sustained in June during a match in Zimbabwe. Besides Delany and Hand, the majority of the squad comprises players who successfully secured qualification for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup last week.

Paul Stirling will lead the 15-member squad, taking over the captaincy role from Andrew Balbirnie, who recently stepped down. This series marks the national side’s return to T20 action following their T20 World Cup qualification. It is strategically planned as preparation for the T20 World Cup scheduled for June 2024 in the West Indies and USA.

Paul Stirling (c), Andrew Balbirnie, Mark Adair, Ross Adair, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Fionn Hand, Josh Little, Barry McCarthy, Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker, Theo van Woerkom, Ben White, Craig Young.
