Inzamam-ul-Haq named Pakistan’s chief selector

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced Inzamam-ul-Haq, the former captain, as the new chief selector for the national cricket team. 

Having previously held the position, Inzamam served as the chief selector for the Pakistan team from April 2016 to July 2019. During his tenure, Pakistan notably secured victory in the Champions Trophy.

Inzamam is also a member of the Cricket Technical Committee (CTC) established by the PCB. This committee is under the leadership of former captain Misbah-ul-Haq and features Mohammad Hafeez as well. His immediate responsibility entails the selection of a squad for Pakistan’s forthcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan in Sri Lanka, commencing on August 22.

Subsequently, he will be involved in squad selection for the Asia Cup 2023. Inzamam is also entrusted with the task of assembling the team for the 2023 World Cup, slated to be held in India.
