India spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who is from Rajasthan, seemed very happy to represent his home team Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL.
Speaking on the show Match Centre Live Auction 2026, the former No. 1 T20I-ranked bowler said that he will have the opportunity to learn from Ravindra Jadeja’s experience while playing for his new franchise.
“There’s nothing better than getting the opportunity to play for your home team. Bowling alongside Ravindra Jadeja will mean a lot to me — it will be a huge learning experience because there is so much to learn from him. He has been playing for such a long time and is one of the best all-rounders in this format, not just in India but overall. I’m really looking forward to learning from him. We also have a very supportive wicket at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The long boundaries there will definitely help us in this IPL.”
RR started the bidding for Bishnoi at his base price, and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were initially also interested in him. After the price reached INR 6 crore, CSK pulled out. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) then came into contention to secure the services of the young spinner. However, RR had the last laugh as they bought him for INR 7.20 crore.
Bishnoi has played 77 matches across six IPL seasons, picking up 72 wickets at an average of 30.96 and an economy rate of 8.22.
