Kartik Sharma from Rajasthan, Auqib Nabi Dar from Jammu and Kashmir, and Prashant Veer from Uttar Pradesh were the three uncapped players who hogged the limelight in the 2026 mini-IPL Auction. Kartik and Veer were sold to Chennai Super Kings for a whopping INR 14.2 crore each. On the other hand, Nabi’s services were bought by Delhi Capitals for a sum of INR 8.4 crore.
For starters, let’s delve deeper into Kartik’s profile. The wicketkeeper-batter from Rajasthan, aged 19, has been in explosive form with the bat for his state. On his first-class debut, Kartik compiled a hundred against Uttarakhand. In the previous edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he notched up 445 runs at an impressive strike-rate of 118.03. Even in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), he has been a fine performer, aggregating over 300 runs across two seasons. More importantly, his strike-rate is over 160. The highlight of his performances this season was his 46 against Karnataka.
One of the salient features of Kartik’s batting is his ability to pierce the cover region without really coming down the track against pace bowling. Meanwhile, Auqib has been in stellar form across formats. In the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy, Nabi has bagged 29 wickets in just five matches at a stunning average of 13.27, including a best haul of 7/24. Such has been his golden run in Indian domestic cricket that he even claimed four wickets in four deliveries in a recently concluded Duleep Trophy game.
Nabi has continued his rich vein of form in the SMAT, taking 15 wickets at an astounding average of 13.26. His key strengths include conventional swing and old-ball swing. Renowned for late movement, Nabi has also shown the ability to nail yorkers in the slog overs in local leagues in Jammu and Kashmir. He is also a useful lower-order batter.
Veer, the 20-year-old spinning all-rounder, could be a like-for-like replacement for Jadeja as far as CSK are concerned. In the UP T20 League, Veer accumulated 320 runs and took eight wickets with his left-arm spin, scoring those runs at an impressive strike-rate of over 155. He also aggregated 112 runs at an average of 37.33 and a strike-rate of 169.69 in the 2025–26 SMAT.
In 12 T20s, he has aggregated 112 runs at a strike-rate of 167.16 and picked up 12 wickets in nine innings at an excellent economy rate of 6.45.
