Every person looks at a new year as a fresh opportunity and a fresh challenge. We at RevSportz are no different. At the start of 2025, we had set ourselves goals to achieve. They were ambitious, but the idea was always to scale. When I look back at the year, I have to say that every target has been met and every box ticked.
Team
As a team, we have grown by over 30 percent in one calendar year. We are now a team of over 50 and perhaps one of the few sports media companies that have continued to offer opportunities to young aspirants in the field.
Coverage
In terms of on-ground coverage—our forte—we started the year with a team of eight in Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Thereafter, we covered the Champions Trophy, IPL, India’s tour of England, the Asia Cup, India’s white-ball tour of Australia, and every other tour from the ground. As for Olympic sport, we covered hockey, badminton, chess, football, and the Paralympic World Athletics Championships from the ground, with our reporters traveling the length and breadth of the country and beyond. We have broken stories, done standout interviews, and also made mistakes. But the intent has never wavered, and that’s all that matters.
Breaking free of social media clutter
RevSportz has never depended on social media money. If you do so, you become a prisoner to sensationalist narratives and are forced to follow social media trends. Take Paralympic sport, for example. There will never be social media ROI on such coverage, and yet it is as important as a cricket tour. We understood this dynamic long back, and the idea was always to break free. In 2025, we started producing shows for international partners and are currently producing a show titled BANTERZ on the EPL for ZEE Africa. We also did a special show with ZEE during the Asia Cup.
Education
We are all set to enter the education space in 2026. Our MOU with the Bengal Institute of Business Studies is signed and executed, and work is in full swing to design the course module for the sports, media, and management course to be launched in July 2026. We also plan to take this module international in the years to come. Taught by practitioners and experts, this is expected to be a standout course for budding sports managers.
Studio
Our studio is almost ready, and may I say, it is state-of-the-art. Spread across two entire floors in the heart of Kolkata, we plan a soft launch during the Trailblazers conclave and will start operations from the middle of the year once the finishing touches are in place.
Trailblazers 2026
March 14-17, 2026. Trailblazers 4.0 will be the biggest and the best. Over the next few days, plenty of announcements will be made in this regard. It will be held at ITC, and things are well underway.
Investment
Our investor base remains robust, and we have had to say “no” to new investment, as the focus now is on consolidation.
In sum, 2025 has been a stellar year for us all—but 2026 can be even better.
