Nitish Kumar Reddy (PC: X)

In his comeback game for Andhra, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy delivered a brilliant performance with the ball on Friday as he picked up a hat-trick in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh at Ambi.

The right-arm medium pacer struck in the third over, dismissing Harsh Gawli, Harpreet Singh, and captain Rajat Patidar. In just one over, Nitish left Madhya Pradesh at 14/3 and put his team in a strong position.

Earlier, during the first innings, Nitish couldn’t impress with the bat as he scored just 25 runs off 27 balls. Srikar Bharat was the top scorer for Andhra with 39 runs off 31 balls, and Pyla Avinash’s 18 runs helped Andhra reach 112. Ashwin Hebbar, Shaik Rasheed, KV Sasikanth, and Satyanarayana Raju all went for a duck. Shivam Shukla once again impressed for Madhya Pradesh as he picked up four crucial wickets, while Tripuresh Singh also took three wickets for the team.

While chasing, Nitish’s spell with the new ball had Madhya Pradesh in early trouble, but Rishabh Chouhan’s steady 47 and Rahul Batham’s unbeaten 35 helped Madhya Pradesh secure victory in 17.3 overs, with 15 balls to spare.

Madhya Pradesh will next play against Jharkhand on December 14 in Pune. Andhra, on the other hand, will face Punjab on the same day.
