As India and Australia gear up for the highly anticipated World Cup final in Ahmedabad on November 19, Travis Head lauded the sharpness and excellence exhibited by the Indian bowlers in the post-match presentation. “It’s an unbelievable attack, their bowlers look sharp and they (India) have been one of the best teams in the competition; never dreamed of playing a World Cup final against them”

In a prelude to the big-ticket clash against India, Australian skipper Pat Cummins shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming match. Reflecting on the prospect, Cummins remarked, “Few of us have played in a final before, couple of other guys in a T20 World Cup final, the stadium is going to be packed, mostly going to be one-sided but it’s about embracing it. The 2015 World Cup was one of the highlights of my career, never thought I’d be here playing another World Cup final in India.”

South African skipper Temba Bavuma wished Australia the best of luck for summit clash. Reflecting on his team’s effort in the semi-final in Kolkata, Bavuma pinpointed the crucial moments of the game, citing the team’s modest performance with the bat and the ball in the starting few overs as one of the decisive factors leading to their three-wicket loss on November 16.

“Good luck to them (Australia) in the final,” said Bavuma. “They played really well today. Our character came through today. We should a lot of resilience. The way we started with the bat and the ball was the telling point, that’s where we lost the game.”
