At just 14 years of age, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has achieved a prestigious honour that many can only dream of. The sensational youngster from Bihar received the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) in New Delhi, India’s highest civilian award for children. The honour recognises his exceptional contribution to Indian cricket.

Vaibhav received the award from President Droupadi Murmu at a special ceremony in the national capital. After the event, Vaibhav and the other award winners are set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an interaction aimed at encouraging young achievers.

Due to the award ceremony, Vaibhav will miss the remaining matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. In his last match against Arunachal Pradesh, he scored a breathtaking 190 runs off just 84 balls, etching his name into the history of List A cricket.

From IPL to Vijay Hazare: Records by Vaibhav

• Vaibhav became the youngest player to score a century in men’s List A cricket, which also helped Bihar post a record total of 574 runs for six wickets.

• Vaibhav also became the joint third-fastest Indian to score a century in men’s T20s during the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025. His score was also the fourth-highest by an Indian in the format.

• The 14-year-old also smashed the fastest youth ODI century, reaching the milestone in just 52 balls during India’s Under-19 tour of England.

• In IPL 2025, he became the youngest player to score a century. He also became the second-quickest player in IPL history to reach a hundred, scoring it in just 35 balls against Gujarat Titans.
