Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant are set to turn out for Delhi in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) confirmed on Thursday, December 11.

When Kohli walks out in the Delhi jersey in India’s premier 50-over competition, it will mark his first appearance in the tournament in 15 years. Pant will also play in the tournament for the first time since 2019.

“The selectors have finalised the list of probables for the Delhi Senior Men’s Team for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy (Domestic Season 2025–26). The list of probables includes the players selected for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy squad. Additionally, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant will be joining the team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy,” read the DDCA statement.

This year, Kohli has been in sublime form in ODIs. The batting stalwart is India’s highest run-getter in ODIs this year, with 651 runs to his name in 13 matches. His tally includes three hundreds — two of which came during the South Africa series — and four fifties.

Having played his last 50-over game in August 2024, Pant will also look to perform well in order to boost his case for a return to the ODI playing XI.

Both players are centrally contracted, and as per the BCCI’s guidelines, contracted players must play domestic cricket when fit and available.

Delhi will begin their campaign against Andhra Pradesh on December 24.
