The Pondicherry Native Cricket Player Association has written to the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), alleging that Satvik Deswal has forged his documents to play for the Pondicherry cricket team.

In an email to the BCCI’s ACU, dated December 15 and accessed by RevSportz, the Pondicherry Native Cricket Player Association stated: “It has been over a month since we submitted a formal complaint to the BCCI Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) regarding the use of forged documents by Satvik Deswal to qualify and represent the Pondicherry team.”

The email added: “Despite bringing this matter to your notice, we observe that many players allegedly using similar methods continue to participate in matches for Pondicherry. This raises serious concerns about the integrity of the eligibility verification process and the effectiveness of the corrective action taken so far, if any.

“We hereby request the BCCI ACU to urgently review our complaint and inform us of the status and actions initiated in this matter. We believe it is the responsibility of the ACU to acknowledge complaints received and communicate the outcome or progress of the investigation.

“We will await your response until the end of this week. In the absence of any response or clarity from the BCCI ACU, we will be compelled to escalate this issue further for public awareness through appropriate media channels.”

Deswal is an 18-year-old left-arm spinner and as per the complaint, he doesn’t meet the eligibility criteria of being a  “resident and Bonafide of Pondicherry for at least one year”. The email also alleges that the cricketer played in “Haryana Cricket Association league until 10th August 2025”.

P Damodaren, the former Cricket Association Pondicherry president, however, rubbished the allegations. “This is a completely fake story, we will sue them (Pondicherry Native Cricket Player Association) for Rs 50 crore,” he told RevSportz. “Our lawyers are preparing the lawsuits against them.”
