The Ayush Mhatre-led India U19 team defeated Pakistan U19 by 90 runs in their Group A match of the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025. Aaron George’s fighting 85, coupled with Kanishk Chouhan’s all-round brilliance, guided the Men in Blue to victory.
Winning the toss, the Pakistan U19 team opted to field first. India suffered an early blow as teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed for just five runs. However, Mhatre and George rebuilt the innings, adding 49 runs for the second wicket. George then stitched together another significant partnership of 60 runs with wicketkeeper-batter Abhigyan Kundu. Chouhan also contributed well down the order, adding 33 runs with Khilan Patel and 31 runs with Henil Patel to take India’s total to 240.
George scored 85, including six fours and one six, at a strike rate of 96.59, while Chouhan made 46 off 46 balls, including two fours and three sixes. For Pakistan U19, Abdul Subhan claimed three wickets.
In reply, none of the Pakistan U19 batters, apart from Huzaifa Ahsan, looked impressive. The Indian U19 bowlers maintained good line and length and applied consistent pressure from the outset. Deepesh Devendran and Chouhan took three wickets each as Pakistan U19 were bundled out for 150 in just 41.2 overs. Ahsan scored 70 off 83 balls. Chouhan was adjudged Player of the Match.
India U19 will play their final league match against Malaysia U19 on December 16.
