India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya wrote an emotional post on his social media after completing 10 years in international cricket.
Hardik shared a video and wrote on Instagram: “10 years of this journey, the year I turn 33. It’s one thing to play the sport I love with all my heart, and it’s another to be able to serve my country through it. I love you all, thankyou for everything. Thankyou god for the trials and tribulations that got me here… The chances that so many people took… The opportunity to live this life. This year has taught me that this is merely the beginning… I’m only just getting started on the path I truly wish to walk.”
“And if I may, to look back at a young Hardik running an extra few miles to get to play from Baroda – a batsman bowling extra balls in the nets to bowlers who never got to practice batting, becoming an all rounder at 19, and from getting noticed and getting rejected – getting to play for my देश has been the most worthwhile journey for me. God had great plans for me when he let me debut on the 26th of January. I’ve become a man while playing this sport, and I’ll grow old playing it too. Jai Hind,” he further wrote.
Hardik made his debut for India on January 26, 2016, against Australia in a T20I match. Since then, the right-hander has become an integral part of India, especially in the white-ball formats. He has played 127 T20Is, scoring 2027 runs and taking 105 wickets so far, including winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
The 32-year-old has also taken part in 94 ODIs for the national team, scoring 1904 runs and taking 91 wickets. He played an important part in India’s victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Due to injuries, Hardik’s Test career has been short, as he played just 11 games, scoring 532 runs and taking 17 wickets.
